An Alleged Ritualist Arrested.

A 23 years old man was arrested for the attempt of sacrificing his nephew for money rituals. The Police in Sunyani arrested and placed in custody Benjamin Adjei who is a fashion designer during the weekend. The cause of the arrest was his attempt of using his 13 years old nephew by name Listowel Adjei for money rituals at Abesim in the Sunyani Municipality. The suspect is alledged to have lured his nephew into a taxi but unfortunately, he was arrested by the Police at the Abesim-Tano police barrier on the Sunyani-Kumasi highway on their way to the shrine. The arrest was made possible because the Police got a tipoff. The District Sergeant, Benjamin Lartey disclosed that the suspect admitted the crime during interrogations and he would be arranged before the court on 17th May which is today. The Sergeant said an informant whose name has been withheld for security reasons came to the Abesim Police Station to report his suspicion when the suspect called for his assistance in sacrificing his nephew. Armed with this information, the Police laid ambush at the barrier and arrested the said suspect. District Sergeant Benjamin Lartey indicated that the was found with a handbag that contained one big cutlass, a knife, red calico,a big pot containing large quantities of cola nuts, cowries and a sum of GH¢ 300.00
