Some houses in several parts of Tamale have been flooded after heavy rain on Monday, August 30, 2021.
Downpour lasts about three hours, affects the area including FOU, Taha, Vettin, Gumani and the Kalariga, among others in the capital of the North.
Residents must fight to escape from damaging floods.
This is the second big flood to hit the city in three days.
Personnel from Ghana National Fire Service was called to save some residents who were trapped at home around the last FOU STOP.
Many of them look to take as much property as possible to save.
"From the way the rain will come, I realize that if I don't return, I and my motorcycle will fall," said one of them.
Others, whose houses are not safe, seem helpless.
On Saturday, August 28, the flood swept the Kalariga community in Metropolis Tamale, displaced several families and destroyed the property.
Flood water is said to have filled the main sewer in the area and entered the house while the family fell asleep.
Residents, who have experienced a similar incident before, described this year themselves as one of their worst floods in several times.
Two days later, the suburbs of other cities suffered such a very fate once more.
This time the victims called for the government to improve the drainage system in the area to prevent such events in the future.
Some of them blamed the bridge which was recently built.
"The government must ensure that every engineer who oversees a bad job must be asked ... we need about three bridges and you build one ... they are just a waste of government money," other victims regretted.
It is not clear whether the victim has been recorded or not.
Residents also called on national disaster management organizations to help them.
