Get Ready To Overtake
THE LAMP DEVOTION
Amos 9:13-15
“Behold, the days are coming,†says the LORD, “When the plowman shall overtake the reaper, and the treader of grapes him who sows seed; The mountains shall drip with sweet wine, and all the hills shall flow with it. 14 I will bring back the captives of My people Israel; They shall build the waste cities and inhabit them; They shall plant vineyards and drink wine from them; They shall also make gardens and eat fruit from them. 15 I will plant them in their land, and no longer shall they be pulled up from the land I have given them,†Says the LORD your God.
I trust that you can hear the sound of abundance of rain. This morning God is reminding you of the great things He is about to do in your life, i.e. if He has not already begun. I believe it gives God great pleasure when He blesses His children beyond their imagination.
Sometimes when we see the wicked prosper and have the world’s goods in their barns, we wonder why it is not so with us. In the process you find children of God tempted to use all kinds of means to acquire wealth. Technology has made it possible to do things within minutes, that earlier on could have taken us days or even weeks to achieve.
Many of us think God cannot keep pace with the speed in the world today. Thinking that way is what drives us to run ahead of God. The results of this attitude have always been disastrous. God is actually ahead of everyone of us in all things. He just does things in His own time according to His plan for our lives. When God He is about to do something for you, you better have high expectations. He makes sure everything happens beautifully in due season.
Prayer
1. Thank God for always being ahead of us in providing for us on earth.
2. Pray for increased grace to help you wait for what He has promised you.
3. Father, please help me to hold on to Your word and look up to You not my situation.
Declarations
I believe in Elohim who speaks and does what He says. My heart waits patiently on him. I will be still before Him and He will prove that He is God above all the earth. I declare by divine authority that what He has said will come to pass and I will eventually be the winner in every adversity of life in the name of Jesus.
