THE LAMP DEVOTION


Romans 12:1-2
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

In presenting our bodies as a living sacrifice acceptable to God, we should accept the call that transformed lives are critical to the Christian life. Very often when we share the gospel with people, we tell them all the good things that will come their way when they give their lives to Christ, with little emphasis on the fact that God wants to change them. The result is that many start their Christian life not with a transformation mentality. So, when the Pastor starts talking about sin and the inevitability of living a holy life, some get offended and want to move to a place where there is little talk about being transformed.
We must always be mindful of what made Jesus come down. Restoring our relationship with God is only the beginning. The bigger picture is that God wants us back to the image in which He created us. In that image it is easy for God to pour Himself through us to humanity. See how easy it was for the Father to show Himself His power through the Son when He was on earth in human form! That is exactly what God wants to do with us and through us.
When you are transformed and the Light of God attempts to pass through you, it is the shadow of Christ that becomes available to all. If not, the shadow is mixed with images that don’t glorify God. Let a transformation mentality lead our responses to everything God has said and continues to say to us through various means.

Prayer
1. Thank God for continuing to work in your life to see you transformed.
2. Pray that you will henceforth live your Christian life with the mentality that God is changing you.
3. Father, please help me to commit to the process the Holy Spirit takes me through to change me.

Declaration
I acknowledge that the beauty of the Christian life is a transformed life. I want to be transformed and become so transparent that the Light of God will shine through me with no blockades. I declare by the grace of God that my personal transformation shall be a forever theme for my Christian experience in the name of Jesus.
