6 Jaw-Dropping Facts About Akwaboah Jnr You Didn't Know

One is right to say, "Akwaboah is music and music is Akwaboah". Akwaboah has been accepted by music lovers in Ghana and all over the world ever since he came into the scene. He has proven that indeed, his dad and granddad are among the greatest musicians to have emerged from Ghana. Discover some facts you probably didn't know about this pure talent.
1. His full name is Gladstorm Kwabena Akwaboah Jnr: He decided to use his dad's name, Akwaboah, for his showbiz trade. Initially, he planned to use Gladstorm but following the advice of some giants in Ghana's showbiz, he used Akwaboah instead.
2. He hails from Mampong Beposo. Beposo is a town in the Bosomtwe District of Ghana's Ashanti Region. It is approximately 40 kilometers west of Kumasi, the capital of the Ashanti Region.
3. He has written songs for many artistes including Becca end SP Kofi Sarpong: Both songs won awards for their respective artistes at the 2010 Ghana music awards. Becca represents high life music and SP kofi Sarpong stands for the gospel fraternity.
4. He won the "Songwriter of The Year" in 2010: For the hard work exhibited by Akwaboah, he was adjuged the best songwriter at the 2010 Ghana Music Awards. He won the award with Becca's hit song, "Daa Ke Daa".
5. He produced and co-wrote a full album for Sarkodie: This is undoubtedly one of the highest points in the songwriter's career. He's the main brain behind all the songs on Ghana's rap heavyweight, Sarkodie's fourth album dubbed, "Mary". The album was released in September 2015. It has classic songs like "Mary", "Mewu", "All Is You" and others.
6. He is a former act on the Sarkcess music label: BET award winner, Sarkodie, signed the talented songwriter and producer in 2016 on a three-year deal. In 2019, the contract expired and both parties mutually agreed not to renew it.
Akwaboah has been a blessing to the Ghana music industry since his inception. He has worked with both local and international artists and everything shows that the "M'afutusem" hitmaker is not stopping anytime soon.
