THE LAMP DEVOTION
Mark 16:15-18
15 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; 18 they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.
Today we are reminded of the Great commission Jesus gave us through the early church. They were to go into every man’s world. Today that represents the countries on the globe, the cultures of the world and every individual wherever we find them. We are to preach the gospel to every man.
God promised us His very presence and this He said will manifest in different kinds of miracles. Mark presents us with a more graphic picture of what we should expect as we obey this command to the letter. Signs and wonders will follow our ministry. There are other unusual happenings that will follow us.
The church today for some reason may not be experiencing what Jesus said in its totality. For those who have doubts in their minds, let me remind us all that miracles still happen. Jesus did not say miracles will end at a point. For as long as the gospel is preached, God is the One who will be doing the miracles. He never said He was tired. He knows some people in the world today need to see miracles; and He is ready to work them if we go in obedience to our world. Let’s go out with the good news. God still works miracles!
Prayer
1. Thank God for His unchanging promise to be with us till the end of the age.
2. Pray that we will have continued faith in God’s promise to work miracles as we preach the gospel.
3. Father, please help us to trust You to work miracles as we preach the gospel.
Declarations
I declare and affirm that the gospel is the power of God unto salvation. The gospel is loaded with power more than the dynamite. It has power to transform people spiritually, emotionally and physically. I trust that as I go preaching the unadulterated gospel, I shall see signs and wonders following the preaching. God has said it and He will do it in the name of Jesus!
