Minister In Weakness

We won't discover the strength of the Lord until we minister where we are weak. Hitherto,we tend to think ministry is defined by our gifts. It is just simply only part of the story. If you and I will sit and plan about this: Peter a fisherman, no education. In other words an illiterate verses Paul of tarsus,a highly skilled and highly trained person,Who was educated in Jewish Knowledge and religion, a disciple of Gamaliel the intellect of the day who puts it better himself by stating it as "a Pharisee of pharisees",we will right to judge Paul as better fit for the Jewish community because of his much knowledge in Judaism. This however wasn't how God handled it. He gave Peter the illiterate an assignment to be an apostle to the Jews(The intellectual pharisees) and Paul whom we would have thought to be the best fit for the Jews in debating rightly with them in all Jewish subjects rather made an apostle to the gentiles. Gal 2:8.
I actually see Apostle Paul then known as Saul, having nothing to do with the gentiles as he would consider them highly unclean/uncircumcised and unworthy to taste of what belongs only to the Jews. Neither do I see Peter with any boldness before the Jews, particularly the pharisees trying to explain scriptures/salvation to these men of great knowledge of the Law. What would he have to say that had not been learned by them? If not for the wisdom and boldness given through Christ, how can he even stand before the 'all-knowing' mighty pharisees to teach them the way of truth?
This just tells us there are times when the resurrection power of Christ can only be seen when we minister out of our weakness and not when we minister out of great strength but out of raw obedience. Reflect on all the mighty deeds that God wrought through these men. I can confidently say that neither of them thought of such a moment in their lives but in obedience to God's command, He showed His mighty working power in and through them. Sometimes God uses the raw act of obedience than faith. His Strength is made perfect in weakness indeed ( 2 Cor 12:9). Let us give God the chance to show out.
Instead of always giving God all we are, let's also consider giving Him all that we are not. In so doing will His strength be made perfect. In that case we can praise Him well because we couldn't have done it without Him. Anyone can do what they do well and call it ministry. It doesn't mean we shouldn't. It just means learn how to obey. Do what you are commanded to do whether or not you feel qualified.
Prayer:
Heavenly father,We thank you for your word. We are sorry for the moment we felt too unqualified to perform a task you assigned us. We utilise the boldness given through Christ and step out even in our weakness believing that your strength will be manifested in Jesus' name. Amen
Amen to your prayers and thank you all for the wonderful comments. May God grant us deep insight in Him.
