Unlimited Annointing

THE LAMP DEVOTION
Luke 4:18-19
“The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; 19 to proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD.â€
It is very common to hear people say they are anointed for one thing and not the other. ‘I am anointed for teaching, but not anointed for evangelism†for example. That gives the impression of different anointings. So far it looks logical till you read Jesus’ manifesto at the early stages of His ministry that we read in today’s passage.
Jesus said He had been anointed and read all that was coming out of Him because of the anointing. It means the anointing is unlimited. The other truth is that it is the same anointing but different manifestations. It means that at any point in time God can use anyone anointed to do anything God wants to do; only if God gets unlimited access to that person. The access the Father had of the Son when the Son was on earth was unlimited, far different from the access God has of His servants in today’s world.
I want to believe that the greatest goal of every Christian is to get to the point where God has unlimited access to you. It means at that point you are so full of the Holy Spirit that there is no space left for the flesh. A lot of people talk a lot but are not easily accessible to God. It is sad if we evaluate our Christian standard by how much we talk or the supposed revelation knowledge we have of God’s Truth. Yield totally to God. It makes the difference.
Prayer
1. Thank God for allowing the Holy Spirit to come and indwell you.
2. Pray that you will cultivate and always yield to the Holy Spirit.
3. Father, please help me get off the throne that Jesus alone will occupy my heart.
Declarations
I declare that I am no longer my own. The One who bought me with His life blood owns me. I yield to Him with all my heart. I declare by the grace of God that I give Him full access to every area of my life to be used for His glory in the name of Jesus.
