There are some of the things in the world when you come across them, they become so hard to believe. But trust me, this world is really filled with many incredible, fun and very interesting places, people and facts. In this article are five of these facts in the world that you probably didn’t know.
1. The longest place name in the world has 85 letters.
A place named “Taumatawhakatatangihangakoauauotamateaturipukakapikimaung- ahoronukupokaiwhenuakitanatahu†in New Zealand is the longest place name in the world. How do they pronounce it? No wonder it is the longest place name in the world. People were surprised at a name of a place in Australia which has 26 letters, “Mamungkukumpurangkuntjunya†Hill but now, you can agree with me that, this place in New Zealand has the longest place name which has 85 letters.
2. Muhammad is the most popular name in the world.
The Muslim has a tradition of naming each first- born son after the Islamic founder and prophet who was called Muhammad. Because of this tradition, Muhammad is said to be the most popular name in the world. Mary, John and James are also popular but Muhammad beats them all. An estimated 50million men and boys in the world carry this name.
3. Only two countries have purple colour in their national flags
The flag of Nicaragua and that of Dominica are the only countries which have the colour purple in their flag. Nicaragua's flag has a rainbow in the center which have a band of purple and Dominica's flag on the other hand shows a picture of a sisserou parrot, a bird with purple feathers. These two elements give the two countries' flags the purple colour in them.
4. You can’t buy coca cola in Cuba and North Korea
Before I came across this, I thought coca cola was been enjoyed everywhere around the world. But no, this soft drink is almost everywhere but Cuba and North Korea. According to BBC, coca- cola has not official reached these two countries. This is because, they are under long- term U.S trade embargoes.
5. Los Angeles is so big that the whole world could fit inside.
7.5billion and more is the world's population which is apparently enormous. But, it is said that, if every single person should stand shoulder to shoulder, we will all fit within the 500 square miles of Los Angeles. This is according to National Geographic. Wow! Los Angeles must be big then.
