Do Not Trust In Men
THE LAMP DEVOTION
Isaiah 31:1-2
Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help, and rely on horses, who trust in chariots because they are many, and in horsemen because they are very strong, but who do not look to the Holy One of Israel, nor seek the Lord! 2 Yet He also is wise and will bring disaster, and will not call back His words, but will arise against the house of evildoers, and against the help of those who work iniquity.
There is a lot of human development in these last days that we are living in. The invention of the computer and what it can do is a revolution that no man can argue against. Every day, computer experts come up with more things that the computer can be programmed to do. Now we can detect the sex of the child before it is born. Man has proposed a lot of philosophies and ideologies to explain life’s phenomena, some close to accuracy and several others completely out of the way.
In the wake of such developments, man is often at the crossroads as to whether to continue to trust God. Is trusting God something relevant in our age? Absolutely! The simple truth is that without God, none of these developments could have happened. It was God who said “in the last days knowledge shall increase†so God is not scared of the explosion of knowledge about the earth and the universe that we are exploiting for our benefit.
God still rules in the affairs of men, and anyone who misses that point is only heading towards great danger. It makes logical sense to trust in God. It is wise to look beyond all we can see because without God we cannot make absolute headway. See how Covid-19 is beating everyone, including the so-called scientific experts. Be wise. Trust God absolutely.
Prayer
Thank God for remaining sovereign in wisdom, in power and in authority.
Pray that you will cultivate greater trust in God as your All in All.
Father, beyond all that man has developed in this world, you are still Ruler of all.
Declarations
I declare that all knowledge comes from God. The knowledge of science and all its application comes from God. My Father is not afraid of human development and discoveries, because He is still the Creator and the Ruler of all creation. My faith in Him is as solid now even with all I know about advances in human knowledge and understanding. I still declare that God is God in the name of Jesus!
