Following his unexpected departure from Barcelona last night, Lionel Messi is reportedly edging closer to a move to Paris Saint Germain.
The Barcelona captain who has spent his entire career at the Camp Nou was close to departing the club last season but failed to do so after several weeks of disagreement between his camp and the previous board.
With his contract expiring this summer, the new Barcelona board had began negotiations to extend his contract and were close to doing so only for La Liga to make it impossible.
The result was a statement released yesterday by the president announcing the departure of Messi from the club.
With the player now being a free agent, several clubs have been credited with an interest but not more than Paris Saint Germain.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Messi's camp and the PSG hierarchy have began talks already and are relying on Neymar to convince the 34 year old to join.
Messi's arrival will see him reunite with Neymar while it provide PSG with an incredible front three of Messi, Neymar and Mbappe.
