Opoku Ware School muted by Prempeh College in Ashanti Regional Championship - NSMQ
Three of the best schools in the Ashanti Region competed in the final of the National Science and Maths Quiz. Prempeh College, Opoku Ware School, and Kumasi Sec. Tech School were the three schools involved in the competition. Prempeh College was expected to win the final due to the exceptional performance they put up the qualifying contest-winning with 80points. It was no surprise as they came out top. Details of the competition are as follows.

Opoku Ware School: 17pts
Kumasi Sec. Tech Sch.: 16pts
Prempeh College took an early 10 points to lead after the first round.
End of Round 2:
Prempeh College: 30pts
Opoku Ware School: 27pts
Kumasi Sec. Tech Sch.: 14pts
Prempeh College lead was reduced to 3 after the second round.
End of Round 3:
Prempeh College: 46pts
Opoku Ware School: 37pts
Kumasi Sec. Tech Sch.: 27pts
The third round ended with Prempeh College still leading with 9 points.
End of Contest:
Prempeh College: 52pts
Opoku Ware School: 37pts
Kumasi Sec. Tech Sch.: 33pts
The contest ended with a hooping 15 points gap for Prempeh College.
The national contest will be very interesting.
