Check Out These Attraction Sites When You Visit The Upper East Region

The Upper East region, located in the north-eastern corner of Ghana, has a lot to offer under the light of tourism. I bring to you some attraction sites in the region you should experience when you visit the region bordered by Burkina Faso to the north and Togo to the east.
1. Navrongo Cathedral: An ancient piece of beauty, Our lady of Seven Sorrows, was built by the Europeans to the Blessed Virgin Mary. Observe the beautiful interior decorations and tombs of the bishops as you wonder how long this has been in existence. Find out all the mind-blowing elements or items used to facelift this catholic of old which still hosts people for worship in Navrongo.
2. Naa Gbewa’s shrine: From all diverse ways to commemorate the founder of the Dagbon tribes is a well-built shrine. The chief is believed not to have died but disappeared. The shrine situated in Pusiga which is now a place of spiritual reverence by his descendants has been present since the 14th century. Locate the traditional place of reverence 90 kilometers from Bolgatanga.
3. Bongo Rocks: Although without much organization, explore an entirely wonderful and loving village. Go through a benefited hassle as you walk pass beautiful vegetative areas and finally hug the fantastic scenes and wildlife you come across. Listen to the different sounds from the music rock as it takes different spots. Have interesting hikes to the apex of the two rocks and enjoy amazing views on both.
4. Pikworo (Paga-nania) slave camp: Slave trade as you know dates back to the 16th century, however, this had no impact on rock bowls carved by slaves when they were withheld in Paga. Have a view of the trees the slaves were shackled, where and how they were punished in an attempt to escape and the cemetery in which they were buried. Although sad, experience how the slaves were engaged in some drumming and dancing by the amazing performance of your guides.
5. Kulungugu bomb site: It is noted that in August, 1962 there was an attempted assassination of the first president of Ghana. Although the president made a narrow escape. Vulnerable school children eager to meet the president suffered from the blast. Have a detailed scenario of what happened and the crave it left behind when you visit the bomb site in the Bawku Municipal District.
Some other equally valuable attractions in the region include Kukula (dam of Kayoro), Sombo Bat Sanctuary, Jafiri Sacred Royal Python Sanctuary, Tono Dams and NAFAC Park.
