In the last few months, Ghanaian youth have taken to social media to demand accountability, good governance, and better living conditions from government. Some protests have been embarked on, this even led to some of the front-liners of this protest with the likes of Efia Odo, social media activist being arrested by the Ghana police. However, this did not deter the protesters of getting their grievances sent to the government. After a few months of ballyhoo from the conveners of this protest, a day has been set for this #FixTheCountry protest to be carried out which is on Wednesday, August 4,2021, which is also a statutory holiday in commemoration of the Founders of the nation. The current acting Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr George Akuffo Dampare, has pledged to provide maximum security during the #FixTheCountry protest slated for Wednesday, August 4.
