Isa 40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew [their] strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; [and] they shall walk, and not faint.
Heb 13:5 [Let your] conversation [be] without covetousness; [and be] content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
Phi 4:11 Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, [therewith] to be content.
Phi 4:12 I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.
Phi 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
1Pe 5:10 But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle [you].
It takes those who are content to wait because the time of waiting is not an easy one. When you are waiting;
1. Things may go wrong(troubles, difficulties and confusions may arise).
2.Things may begin to blossom (some successes may be chopped which may bring about complacency).
However, a place of waiting is a place of waiting. So in difficulties we must learn to cope with it and if we have chopped some successes, we must learn not to become complacent. Paul showed us a perfect example that in all circumstances (whether good or bad), he has learnt to be content. Being content means to be satisfied by what you have, who you are and the season your maker has placed you in. Being content helps us to:
1. Have peace of mind: you always know that is the right place to be because Yahweh is right there with you (Hebrews 13:5)
2. Simple in all their dealings: you avoid extravagant life and trying to impress people. Anyone who tries to impress people will end up depressed.
3. Build a stronger relationship with Yahweh and human: you will not be in hurry to move ahead of your maker. You will acknowledge Him in all your ways and ask Him to direct your path. That makes the relationship stronger(ukr). You will also not have problem with people( sekof their achievements) because jeolousy and envy will not characterize your life.
4. Distinguish between need and want: you will know what you need and what you want and pray about what you need rather than what you want. And your maker will supply all your need. ( Philippians 4:19)
Let me quickly make this point that contentment does not mean mediocrity or irresponsibility. But when one works hard and is responsible and then content with what His maker gives him through that hardwork.
Contentment is a whole university we must school in lest we expose ourselves to unnecessary dangling. When you are content, you can confidently wait and after the moments of waiting, you will be made what you ought to be (1 Peter 5:10, AMP)
