2 Corinthians 5:21 KJV
[21] For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
The word righteousness over the years have been misinterpreted as right living so much that it has lost its impact in the lives of many. The opening verse says, Jesus became sin so that we can be God's righteousness. This simply suggests, a person is righteous because Jesus became sin. It had nothing to do with the actions of the person who is righteous, it has everything to do with the person who became sin(Jesus).
A person’s righteousness is based on this principle; If a person who knew no sin can represent sin, then a person who knows sin can become a representative of righteousness.
This is what the devil didn’t see when he was pushing for the death of Christ. He thought finishing Jesus will end God's agenda but he didn’t know that will birth the agenda for righteousness.
You see, when Jesus went on the cross he destroyed everything that was against our relationship with God. (Ephesians 2:14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us).
The things humanity did wrong became a wall that separated man from God, such that no one could go to the father. When Jesus died on the cross, he created access for man to come boldly to God. This access is what is called righteousness.
Righteousness is the right and access to God’s goodness. God’s goodness including, forgiveness, supply, Graces, peace and the big one communion with him.
Let no man rob you of this free gift available to everyone who believes in Christ Jesus. Walk today with the consciousness that you are righteous and always have access to the father. You have a right standing with God, glory hallelujah
