THE LAMP DEVOTION
Matthew 19:23-26
23 Then Jesus said to His disciples, “Assuredly, I say to you that it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. 24 And again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.†25 When His disciples heard it, they were greatly astonished, saying, “Who then can be saved?â€
26 But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.â€
We live in a world presented with two scenarios – things that are deemed possible and things that everyone will tell you that this one is impossible. It is quite understandable because since the Fall of man, we have continued to remove ourselves from the Source of all power.
Jesus addressed this observation in today’s passage. He first spoke the language of men and immediately He got the attention of the disciples. While they wait attentively, He introduced the heavenly language. Jesus was explicit in His submission: “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possibleâ€.
Jesus spoke as a man; but He spoke also as God. Jesus actually said, “with ME all things are possibleâ€. Yes, with Him all things are possible. Yesterday’s devotion was evidence that with Jesus all things are possible.
It is with this new paradigm we should approach our world – nothing shall be impossible with us through Christ our Lord. Take this truth and apply it even to those issues we consider as obvious or will happen anyway. If we learn to achieve what others consider as simple through the intervention of the Holy Spirit, we will be building ourselves to believe God for what looks impossible. It is a new way of life. Come along with me.
Prayer
1. Praise God that He is still the ultimate Source of power and you are His child.
2. Pray that you will have a shift from impossibility thinking to possibility thinking.
3. Father, please help me live trusting You like a child, that in You all things are possible.
Declarations
I declare that today I am making a shift in paradigm. I am shifting from a mindset and language of impossibility to a language of possibilities in Christ. Wherever I have declared impossibility, I now pronounce possibility and I stretch my faith in this new way of life. I declare by divine authority that with God, I conquer all difficulties in the name of Jesus!
